Christ's Image – Hofmann

The German painter, H. Hofmann, completed this image of Jesus in 1894. It is said that the eyes follow the viewer in the original image, due to a nifty painting technique employed by the artist.

Other than piercing the soul of the viewer, Our Lord raises his fingers in a motion of blessing. Also, the two fingers represent the two natures of Christ: Divine and human.
