This is a lovely portrayal of the Madonna and the Christ Child, by Spanish Baroque artist, Murillo.
In the painting, the Blessed Mother is seated on a gray cloud. She has white skin, brown hair, and dark brown eyes. The Madonna wears a translucent veil, a red dress, and a large blue cloak, which is wrapped around her lower body. The Madonna faces forwards while looking slightly to her right. With both of her hands, the Our Lady supports the Child Jesus, Who stands on the left side of her lap.
Jesus is portrayed as a child of about two years of age. He has white skin, light brown hair, and brown eyes. His Mother holds a white cloth with both of her hands so that it covers His waist. The Christ Child extends His right hand slightly to His right side, while facing the viewer of the painting.
The background of the painting is orange in color, the edges being dark orange and the center a light orange.
