Mary and Jesus

by Isabella Childs December 30, 2020

mother and baby

In this painting of Mary and Jesus by Mantegna, the Blessed Mother holds the sleeping infant on her breast.

Mary has light skin, brown eyes, and light brown hair. She wears a short brown veil with golden designs on it, a dark blue dress, and a golden cloak. The Blessed Mother holds the Infant Jesus against her breast so that the child is inside her cloak. Her head is lowered so that it rests against His head.

The Child Jesus has light skin. His eyes are closed. He is wrapped tightly in white cloth.
