Catholic bishop

This is a portrait of Saint Ambrose, Bishop of Milan, by an anonymous sixteenth-century artist.

St. Ambrose is depicted as an old man with a white beard. The holy bishop wears a pale gold mitre, and brown, red, and gold vestments. He holds a crosier in his right hand. There is an unrolled parchment beside him.

Saint Ambrose is the Patron Saint of Beekeepers.
