Christ's three favored apostles sit, sleeping, on the grass beneath the mound. Judas, accompanied by soldiers holding long spears, approaches. City buildings in a valley, surrounded by trees and mountains, make up the background. There is an angel holding a chalice in the dusk-blue sky.
