G. Bellini, shows Jesus praying on a rocky hill in
Gethsemane right before His dolorous passion. Christ kneels on the right side of the image, looking up at a white angel in the bright blue sky, who is holding a chalice. Christ's chosen three are asleep on the ground on the left side of the picture. In the valley below Christ and His apostles,
Judas Iscariot and a band of soldiers wind their way along the path that leads to the hill.
