This artwork, showing Jesus gloriously rising from the dead on Easter Sunday, was painted by an anonymous artist from the Florentine School, around the year 1600. In this rendition of the Resurrection, the soldiers guarding Christ's tomb cower in fear as the Savior rises out of His tomb, brilliant with light and carrying the banner of victory.
