Veni Sponsi Christi

This is an antique black-and-white illustration showing several young women, dressed beautifully in white, preparing to take their vows to become Catholic nuns. The title of the piece is Latin for Come, Thou Brides of Christ, which means the spouse of the nuns is no man on earth, but only Christ Himself. Note the elderly nun in the background, one who has already made the lifetime commitment that the young ladies in the artwork are about to make.
