Brother Junipero, pictured here as allowing a poor man to take his tunic, was one of the original followers of St. Francis of Assisi and was called "the renowned jester of the Lord". Of him St. Francis is reported to have said, "Would to God, my brothers, that I had a whole forest of such Junipers". Artwork by E. Murillo.
