This artwork by J. Tissot shows Christ sleeping on His apostles' fishing boat during a storm on the Sea of Galilee. The fishermen are becoming greatly alarmed, and two of them attempt to rouse the Savior to ask Him if He would command the storm to stop. This episode in the Life of Jesus is recounted in MK 4:37-38: "And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that the ship was filled. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, sleeping upon a pillow; and they awake him, and say to him: 'Master, doth it not concern thee that we perish?' "
