St. Jerome in Penitence – Sodoma


Saint Jerome was a 4th century cardinal who translated the Bible in to Latin. His birth name was Eusebius Hieronymous Sophronius, and he was one of the greatest fathers of the Catholic church. This artwork by Sodoma shows St. Jerome holding a crucifix while kneeling in prayer.
